The top part seems to imply that the installer is about to run a program which will check to see if my system can handle the package I'm about to install. However, I have difficulty understanding the purpose of this dialog box. Now I consider myself a relatively astute OS X user. I'm not sure when it crops up, but sometimes it does (only for apps that install kernel extensions?). Note that most OS X packages don't cause this screen to appear.
